Hello to my FJR Riders,

Found this link to a HONEST owner of a C14 that ran his bike on a DYNO. Thought you all might be interested. Remember all Dyno's read differently and this guy seems to understand that. An 6-8hp advantage to the Kawasaki sounds about right to me. BUT is it really a PERFORMANCE advantage considering the EXTRA PORK and the KAWASAKI HISTORICAL OVER GEARING???? Can't wait for the upcoming magazine Sport touring shoot outs!

https://www.concours.org/forum/topic.asp?AR...C_ID=32718&

Oh yes.. and to all the FJR bashing C14 joining bandwagoneers... Check this forum out:

https://www.bikeland.org/board/forumdisplay.php?FID=42

Seems like a lot of C14 owners are complaining about plenty of stuff.. Leaking rear differentials, very hot heat issues(ankles), vibrations (I thought she was "buttery smooth"), Dead KPASS systems, tire pressure systems not reading, LCD's failing, horse crap mirrors..... Hmmmm.... Guess Kawasaki didn't raise the bar as high as we all hoped...

I will sleep better tonight - knowing that the Kawasaki only has 6 more HP than my FJR.

I WAS worried, let me tell you!

What a **** heap!

Honestly, if you are so bloody insecure in your FJR ownership that you gleefully post alleged problems with another bike in some vain attempt at purchase justification, my suggestion is to sell the ******* thing, and take up knitting.

My '03 dyno'd at 131.19. I don't see an 8-9 hp difference.

Perhaps the later, de-tuned models might be down on power but us 1st wavers have nothing to be concerned about.

Wicked Webby: Interesting information to those of us who are sick and tired of all the "New King of the Super-Sport Touring Hill" marketing BS. I take my hat off to anyone who makes an honest attempt to compete with the FJR. It's a great bike....not perfect....but, IMHO, the best there is (at least so far) and will take an aweful lot to beat it. The C14 is close, but by no means a clear, decisive winner. I've also read about the problems with the C14 that you "allege". As with any new model that's rushed to market, it has it's problems that WILL be worked out, just as Yamaha worked out the issues of the early FJR's.

Any way, thanks for sharing.

Note to Tropical FJR: I hope you catch the SOB who **** of your Wheaties this morning :angry2: and your day gets better. Perhaps a ride on a new C14 might help?

I'll GUNNY that.

The only thing FJR owners on here like to ***** about more than their own bikes is anyone else's choice for a bike.

I like bikes.

If the C14 is a great bike, it doesn't make my FJR any less great. There is plenty of room in the world for great bikes.

If you can't be, with the one you love, love the one you're with.

Alot of this doesn't surprise me. 1st yr bikes always have kinks that need to be addressed, it's the rush to get a $$ return factor. What does surprise me is that people think they are better because they are newly introduced. Kaws' got a history of letting things out with kinks, the KLR doohickey, the VN1600 solenoid knock,.

What really turned me off on the C14 was adding the plastic ashtray thing on the top of the tank, on 2 of the 3 showroom bikes I saw the "ashtray" lid wouldn't even open, not too mention the room would be nice to have for a tankbag. I think the heat thing is just semantics, people think cause it's new and pristine that it''ll be like a luxury car.

As has been said here many times these supersport motors make heat. Goood links though . TH

Just don't piss in the popcorn again bud.... That really takes the fun outa it!

Tropical FJR,

How you take a thread such as this and make it into a **** slinging rant is beyond me. You need something to help heal your insecurities, try Viagra.

Bounce,

I don't doubt your FJR dyno'd at 131.19 BUT, One needs to compare another bike on the same dyno to really be able to compare the bikes side by side. One of my ZX12r's dyno'd at 190+ HP but it didn't really mean much..Other than that dyno ran higher than most and I bet your FJR would of pulled 140 on that dyno. I really like the fact that the C14 owner that posted gave a HONEST(seemed) comparison to what other FJR's ran on the that same dyno.

A true performance comparo will be nice to read..side by side dyno's and the HARD(no pun intended tropical fjr) numbers will be interesting.

Well for people such as me that enjoy the touring aspect of this bike...the butt and right wrist tell me I have plenty of power in this bike. I use my bike for more than dyno runs...long distance touring in style and meeting other great FJR folks is what it's about for me.

But you guys continue the discussion....

I don't see the "issue" here. Wicked posted something that refutes a lot of the hype surrounding the C14. It was, as most threads relating to the C14, a perspective.

Tropical comes in with, to me, a hilarious response. I didn't take it as a slam directly on Wicked, but rather a slam on anyone who actually gives a **** about which bike is better. We own FJR's, so we are proud of them (I hope). But you can't deny the fact that there are some, more so in the sport bike and cruiser market, who actually own a bike because of its status, not because of its abilities.

My point is, I'm right there with Tropical. If you are the type that is insecure about the C14's presence and believe it will affect you in some way, well, enjoy your life of misery :) :)

I'm also right there with Wicked by not buying into the hype that has been presented thus far.

Profireguy nailed it IMO: "If the C14 is a great bike, it doesn't make my FJR any less great."

Gunny!!!!!!!! I thing Tropical just doesn't give a sh**. Can't we all just get along. LOL Just go ride what you got and if you are not happy sell and buy another. Thats what makes this fun. If I could I would buy and try them all. Plus hype is what sell, until the actual results are out. i bet the initial buy is out on the Kawi, sales will slow. You know how much influence a few threads can have on the net.

Now the real question.

Who's got the biggest D*ck.

C-14 owners or FJR owners?

My D*ick's bigger than your D*ick.

Hahahahahahaha to all of it.

+1 Pony.....

Yep.. the FJR is great no matter what else is out there..
