I will sleep better tonight - knowing that the Kawasaki only has 6 more HP than my FJR.
I WAS worried, let me tell you!

What a **** heap!

Honestly, if you are so bloody insecure in your FJR ownership that you gleefully post alleged problems with another bike in some vain attempt at purchase justification, my suggestion is to sell the ******* thing, and take up knitting.
Don't mince words. Tell us how you really feel.

I don't doubt your FJR dyno'd at 131.19 BUT, One needs to compare another bike on the same dyno to really be able to compare the bikes side by side. One of my ZX12r's dyno'd at 190+ HP but it didn't really mean much..Other than that dyno ran higher than most and I bet your FJR would of pulled 140 on that dyno. I really like the fact that the C14 owner that posted gave a HONEST(seemed) comparison to what other FJR's ran on the that same dyno.
understood. the whole story of that effort is here.

My D*ick's bigger than your D*ick.
Ok, you win the D*ck contest.

BUT

I know how to use mine in the "twisties" though

AND

I win the *** contest for sure. I am told I am ONE BIG *** alot!!! :D

Ok you maybe one big *** but I'm a bigger *** h0le. Everyone keeps telling me that, so it's gota be true.

Now don't be sayin' nothing 'bout my mama wearing Army Boots or you'll be a heep of trouble.

That ******* must be stretched from all those big d*cks you are familiar with to be THAT big :p

Oh no he di-int just go there...

Oh Yes he did, But the big d*cks got there first  :D

Ah piss off ya buggers! I'M the president of the **** Klub :p An no It Isn't self proclaimed, I wuz elected.

So I say again. Piss off B)

All hail the ****!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:jester:

The whole deal was to point out just how stupid all this mine's better, faster what ever than someone else's. Just because you bought it or someone else did doesn't make it better than anyone elses. They are all motorcycles and the all have good and bad points. It's just about as stupid as who's got the biggest ****, *** or *******.

And of course some ******* has to take it to far.

Go **** YOURSELF.

Yes he did just go there.

Bounce,

Thanks for the info and the link. Sounds like your tuner did a great job.

Both CycleWorld and Rider have tests on the C14 this month (Oct 07 issues). Cycle World's dyno numbers seem to be the most accurate as they had the high spped fans working to optimize the ram air design. The Borla dyno's high-speed fans were down when Rider tested the bike. CW posted 136.9 hp at 9200 rpm and a very nice torque curve that peaked at 92 ft# at 7300 rpm.

Face it guys, the motor out performs the FJR's and the C14 is a serious contender for the sport-bike crown. There will be comparison tests coming soon, but that won't end the debate. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. No bike is perfect for everyone and we always want more power.

Amen to that! I've seen a few mags declare the Connie is the "bike of the year" for the ST category already. Sometimes I think unless a major flaw is blatantly obvious to these guys the newest, shiniest object gets their attention more than anything.

Their declarations are the equivalent of pre-season college football polls... (With all due respect to USC intended  )

most of the responses i've seen seem to be a result of earlier posts about the C14 being an FJR "killer". Simply put, it isn't. After all the marketing hype has had the light of day shined on it, the C14 is a "competitor"; not a "killer".

well spoken-lets see what the 08 FJR looks like-if they fix the fuel delivery problem, clunky shifting and bump the power up (do they really need to?) and maybe add a cruise control option the rest of the bike is good to go

I read both magazines yesterday and when I looked at the torgue output between 3-8000 rpms, it seemed to be a draw with the FJR holding a slight advantage below 4,000 rpms. I think Kawasaki makes great motors but ram air is really overrated since it doesn't start to work until 90 mph. What I like best about the C14 is how smooth the engine is, any power advantage over the FJR at high rpms is going to be at least partially offset by the 693 pound wet weight, which is 40 pounds more than my 05 ABS.

I wish someone would end the speculation about the C14 valve adjustment intervals, I have read 15,000 miles on the Concours forums, Rider said 24,000 miles, and Cycle World said 26,000 miles. Whatever it is, it is going to be a lot more labor intensive than the FJR.

Let's assume you are right. My question is, who gives a ****???

I can't remember the last time I ever took a bike I owned remotely close to the bike's limit, thus, the advantage of the C14's motor that may outperform my FJR's motor would be totally wasted. In addition, I sat on a C14, it wasn't as inviting as my FJR.

My point originally, and reiterated now is, no matter much better a C14 may or may not be doesn't change how happy I am with my FJR. But this isn't new. We've had similar discussions when comparing first gen to second gen FJRs.

I thought Tropicals comments were fine and justified. There has been a lot of insecurity goin on...and now you're listing the 'issues' with the bike...were you sticking your tongue out as you wrote?? Wicked Webby also jumped all over Freds post (here) earlier cause the guy wrote a comparison. Why so defensive? Sheesh.

I agree with Pony...its not going to change how I feel about my feejer..i love her. ;) (for now)

MCRIDER007,

Well those magazines are misprinting or cashing checks to misqoute..Who knows with all the big money between manufactors and magazines... The valve int. adjustments on the C14 is every 15000 miles/24000 kilometers. Check it out:

https://www.bikeland.org/board/viewthread.p...6&set_time=

And you said it about being way more labor intensive and expensive. I agree with you on the C14 needing a diet before it will walk a FJR. Did those magazines post any performance numbers regarding the C14 and FJR yet?
