Yes, it is summer down under isn't it. You folks have been enduring horrendous fires for several years now.

Hope all is well now, and I bet you are looking forward to "fall".

Best of luck!

P.S. Surreal pictures! Unbelievable. Stay safe!

Tassie was but now all is well here to day the fires have flaired up again so for the next couple of days at least it will be vis down to 100 metres and smokey air...think I'll stay inside today and maybe tomorrow! high 30-40'sC as well so the aircon will get a bit of a work out....And to all thanks for the kind words.

There's not much worse than watching your homeland scenery taken by a wildfire. I remember reading posts from ElfireBob & Nanc when San Diego was burning. The fire is voracious and takes on a life of its own...not to mention destroying wilderness that will not recover for decades, if not centuries. Some of the places we ride in the Sierras still have visible scars from past fires. Then, you appear to be downwind. Bad, very bad, all around. Take care of yourselves and squeeze the family so they know they're loved.

And, yes, Thugette is cute!

Hey, I remember being in San Diego when San Diego was burning!

Not me in the pic. I was a bit busy working, just off to the right of frame, to keep our engine and hides from getting BBQ'd. My captain was snapping pictures.

Hey Thug, glad you didn't have to evacuate. I've seen plenty have to and return to find their neighborhood in ashes. And some who didn't get out in time (Oakland Hills). :(

Those are some crazy pics!

Had that same scenario in Fla. in "98. Scary stuff for this urban firefighter. Those choppers saved our ***** (and quite a few homes) when we got cut off. Glad your'e OK.
