So I wanted to share some of my thoughts, experiences and ideas about the FJR after riding mine for my first 1000 miles (stop that snickering all you iron butts give me time and ill get her up there). I waited to write this till after I had taken Stormy for a proper ride up in the WNC roads to get what I believe is the full experience of why you purchase a FJR or any other sport touring bike. I have rode this bike most of the days Ive owned her so far unless the weather was awefull even if it meant that it would only be a ride to and from work. I have taken information from here and put it to use in several ways from basic air pressures to suspension setups. Also did some routine things like changing oil and flushing coolant system. Repaired the rear brakes, added aftermarket exhaust and just ordered my new upgraded CCT for good measure. I had a ball this weekend in the mountains playing around and really getting to see what the bike is able to do(within my limits tho). All in all I think the FJ suits my style of riding much better than the ol V Star did as well as much funner to twist that throttle. Thank you all that have posted invaluable info here it made it much easier to make an informed purchase as well as help me to make I feel the right type of purchase. I look forward to meeting hopefully many of you some day and enjoy a meet or a informal get together someday. So yea .... shes a keeper.

Preaching to the choir, but glad you get it. Enjoy! Now ride it to Montana and I'll buy you a Cold Smoke Scottish ale.

It is always good to hear the gratification one gets when he or she has the first opportunity to take out the FJR on it's maiden voyage.

Trust me when I say that your experiences will get better as time and miles go by. Talking about this wonderful machine is one thing but seat time is where it's at.

Enjoy and stay safe.

I could not agree more with your assessment. I have put over 3K on my bike since getting a month ago. So much better than my cruiser. When I cannot ride I feel blue (like my bike)...... I am still getting farkles for it, a little at a time. Next up is a set of sliders....

Another one assimilated. Our work is done here.

Congrats on the FJR. And glad to hear you are enjoying the experience.
