Nice report... I can recommend grip puppies from CAsporttouring for eliminating the small grip issue. the larger diameter along with the softer material went a long way towards mitigating the heavy throttle return spring for me.

I was also hesitant with regards the AE, but now can't really see what I was worried about.

Welcome Dale.

I too live in the area, ride an AE after a long hiatus and also upshift with the paddle and downshift with my foot.

We'll have to get a local group ride going soon.
