Called my bud Niehart and told him I was taking a sick day and asked if he wanted to go along for a ride.

I couldn't see going in to work with a sunrise like this!

We did a little him hawing as the conditions haven't been real good but decided to meet about 11:30 at Micky D's in Arlington.

We didn't have a plan so I asked if he had ever been to Bowman Bay, no he said so off we went!

Now my man Niehart is about the best riding partner a guy can have (him and escapefjrtist were my first internet date) but the dude can't hold a cup of coffee!

And to end a good day the Corbin Smuggler I bought for $350 from a fourm memeber was on the front porch when I got to the door, I bought it used and it is off a AE (wrong color) but it will due for now as the price was right.

Ride safe, Kevin

Beautiful, beautiful scenes in those pics Kevin. So the sun actually DOES shine there on occasion?

Some day, (some warm day), I'm gonna make it to the Cascades.

And so THAT'S what Niehart looks like. Very.......focused. :D

Old Michael,

Come to CFR a couple of days early and we'll ride the North Cascades loop.

Nice pictures. I'm with O.M. - kinda surprised there was sun shining there! Some day I'm gonna make it out to that corner of the country...

Great day!

I have some decisions to make. I'm going to have to be surgery enhanced or quit wearing so many layers of pants or quit the coffee. Just saying ….

I rode out of the fog to sunshine. First 40 minutes and last 40 minutes of my ride were in pea soup fog.

Panman, thanks for showing me some new roads. I’ll be doing those again. What a great day, sunshine, great views, good roads, not much traffic and a good guide.

Alright Panman, I will wash the damn bike! Won’t be clean as escapefjrtists but it will be blue again.

Excellent pictures and write up! Thanks. :clapping:

So does that escapefjrtist still keep that bike clean? That shows real gayness dedication with all that rainy weather! ;)

Yeah, that fog has been keeping me from riding to work, its frozen to the ground until close to noon and the refreezes when it gets dark (like 4:30 around here). Ice slick roads and parking lots can be spotted all around.

Nice Pic's!

I wish i had places like that to go to. everything is flat in this state. 2 1/2 hrs. to get to any decent mountains around here.

That's why we waited till later, I kept telling Niehart that it was my cheese, crackers and a bottle of wine tour. These are all places within a hour of where I live. these are all good places to take the wife in the cage and take a couple of lawn chairs, cheese crackers and wine. I wish she could still ride but after back surgery and being a stubborn hard working woman, well lets just say that some times the sled shed gets a long look as we head out the drive!

Hey wait a minute. I'm stuck at work in pea soup fog and you two are out playing around...And you didn't even invite me!

Nice pics Kevin, looks like you two had a good ride and many stops for the old guy.

Now knock it off and stop making this a "pick on escape" thread...the bike is clean most of the time.

Looks like somebody photographed Dave's good side again!

Dave, that's no way to wash your bike. You need more hose. :)

I'm heading to that corner in June. Glad you have all the roads chosen. Even happier you guys enjoyed a much overdue good day and shared it.

Ditto on the nice pictures. I've never ridden any of those roads - so many roads and so little time. Other than the Tulip festival, I never venture up north too much.

About the sun; we may get occasional sun, but it's a mixed blessing. When the sun does shine in the winter, it's virtually always accompanied by freezing temps. And as soon as it warms up above freezing, the rains start again. But on those rare winter days it sure is nice to ride the plethora of beautiful roads we have around here.

Nice pics, they make me homesick! Grew up in Seattle/Tacoma, left to go in AirForce in 76.

Married a North Carolina girl, never get back with my MC.

What really sucks is when I laid out a tour of Wash State for my buddies from Virginia, and I couldn't go.
