How about cutting LEO's some slack? Last I checked calling a person a derogatory name was just plain rude. There are a few LEO's on here, me being one of them. Not one of us that I can remember have come on here and bashed anyone. In fact it's usually just the opposite. We have offered advice for those that have been ticketed and let them know what the law states and their options.

Oh, and I don't know where it came from, but it's news to me that we are actually increasing the amount of tickets we write. Speaking for myself only, my Department is more concerned with getting radio calls handled. Our staffing is way, way down. Giving tickets isn't the highest priority.

... a Folsom cop cited me today
I hate the fuzz .....freakin' pricks they are.
How about keep your opinions to yourself. If you have nothing constructive to say, or type, then say nothing at all.

Rick
Hey, cut the old guy some slack. Anyone who refers to a LEO as the "fuzz" deserves some extra consideration.

Also, all of you guys are missing the point. LEOs are obviously targeting puppies for enforcement.

To my surprise a Folsom cop cited me today for failure to stop fully before executing a right hand turn at a red light. (EDIT - The bastage actually cited me for running the red light straight through, which I didn't, I made a right turn).

I am sure the Golden State thanks you for the contribution. I got nailed a couple years ago in Pleasant Hill for not stopping long enough, and there were no cars anywhere around me. Cha-Ching!

Easy there buddy, you are getting all touchy for my calling that SPECIFIC cop a bastage? Yes, I maintain he is still a bastage and I was talking about that ONE prick who copped (yes pun intended) an attitude when I was very nice to him and co-operative. Plus, he wrote me up for the wrong more expensive violation, you would call that ethical in your eyes, would you? I have nothing against all LEO's just the ones who are drunk on power and authority!

The rest of the comments edited, because they are not relevant.

I see this thread is starting to get odiferous.
Yep, and it doesn't need to. I kinda agree with rickysnickers and understand his reaction. In my experience, the LEOs here (actually most LEOs who are riders) are good guys who are more helpful than anything else -- the kinda folks who are great to have around. There's good and bad in every business and occupation. Let's give it a rest, please.

Agreed, I apologize and I hope no hard feelings Rick. Your post was probably not even directed at me, my quotes were just included when you hit reply. I will go on the record to say I do not agree with what RenoJohn said, I don't know him very well yet, we have only met a couple of times, but he is a nice guy and he likes to play around on the forums, I would take what he posts on the forums with a grain or more of salt. As for CAJW I think he was just trying to be funny, seeing that happypuppy and puppychow both got tickets and trying to say what I just said about giving Renojohn's forum comments some "special" consideration. ;)

Actually, the issue should be more directed toward the municipality that decides how their policies are enforced by their police department.

In our area, the City of Folsom is known (by those in my profession) as one who strictly enforces all violations. God help the delivery driver who misses his turn and is one street off their designated truck route, while trying to get back on that route.

Ditto that; I'd much rather live with them (even the few bad ones) than live without them. How much respect would the cagers have for those of us on two wheels if those guys weren't out there?

Fair enough. And no, they were not in anyway directed toward you. :drinks:

Cops... Ya can't live with em and ya can't shoot em!!

Just kidding Ricky!!! :p

PS - When I was growing up the (older) next door neighbor's name was Ricky. We had some "times" together (not sure if you'll understand what that means, and no BJ it's not that).

He later became a local town cop. I became a gear head greaser and then joined the NAVY to escape it all.

He's now a retired cop. I'm still a gear head greaser, and am still looking for the way "out".

<sigh> Oh well...

Oh, and lighten up, huh? Nobody here is down on ya. Even that cranky old bastid from Reno.

He wrote me up for running a red light about a $400 ticket with fine plus B.S. fees and traffic school tacked on, at least I am eligible for traffic school. Needless to say I will be fighting it. Ticket Assassin here I come...
$400 for burning a yellow (barely)?!?!?!

That's at least one good thing about living in Quebec. Coming to a full stop, speed limits and the legal drinking age are all more like sugestions than rules.

Sorry to hear that puppychow - $400+++ is freaking ridiculous.
+1 That's the way it works in Cali.
