When I go fishing I always use the car or truck. I thought when you ride and fish is double the fun?

So, show me your setup. I'm trying to figure out how to put together the cooler, rod holder in the bike.

I'd like to do the same thing. I'm all ears

I purchased a browning pack rod not long ago that will easily fit in a saddle bag or my GIVI trunk. Add a small tackle box and you're in business. Take a camera and release the fish you catch.

I take a full sized rod- slide a PVC "T" on the rear peg, w/the leg up, put the butt of the rod in it & secure w/a bungee cord. Everything else fits in a bag or under a cargo net.

That's one good set up. I'll try this one out.

I'm trying to figure out how to carry a decent size cooler. The trunk mounts I searched for sale are too small and expensive.

I've found a boat to be superior to a motorcycle, for fishing. You go right ahead and learn the hard way, though.

Good luck.

Yea, try to drive that boat 75mph in the hiway.

If I need a boat, I'll take my truck and boat to port mansfield. But I am trying to setup my bike here so it can carry basic fishing gear for fishing without the boat.

I use a four-piece fly rod. I just got my FJR and it will fit great across the cases--I used to put it on my Bandit. My case is similar to this.

I'll take a pic of my own when I get set up.

It looks something like that. With the FJR I can run the strap on the case through the handles and lock it onto the bike, which will be nice. Wader boots in one case; waders in another, tackle in my tank bag. I have fabulous fishing starting 15 to 20 minutes from home though.

Last year in Yellowstone I pulled off on a hot summer day, waded out into the Madison River in Levis with sandals, and started fishing. Ranger pulled up and was really disappointed that I actually had a park permit to fish and legal tackle--I think she couldn't believe someone without a grand worth of orvis gear was legally fishing in a national park.

Anyway--jumped on the bike with soaked levis, hit the highway and was completely dry in about 20 minutes. Good times!
