If it would have been six inches higher, it would have caught my eyes. I'd probably be blind right now," Sevy said.
Sounds like no helmet. Another good reason for ATGATT. My screen is always set so the wind (and bees) goes above my neck, but if I caught some motherless **** pulling a "prank" like that, well, I just won't put it in writing....

Idiots.

However, I glanced at the "comments" and I don't believe the only idiots out there are the ones with the fishing line. They make our Forum conversations sound downright scholarly.

I think the pranksters need to be choked with fishing line until it leaves them with a scar, or worse, but that's just my thoughts on it.

So true! And just think about this for a minute...if only those victims of Columbine had dropped out of school in the 8th grade, they'd still be alive! Another good case for dropping out and getting high!!

In 1984 a motorcyclist was killed in southern England by a wire fishing line. In Italy 11 April 2007 a motorcyclist was decapitated by barbed wire strung across the road. They rarly, if ever, catch the culprit.

Thoughtless, selfish morons. If I caught one of them, I'd send for Toecutter to do what he won't put in writing. They could have killed or maimed the rider. Wonder if that would have warranted more than a slap on the wrist?

Intent ought to factor in to the punishment. Stringing a cutting wire (which is all it can be called) across a road is intent to kill. Plain and simple. It's not a prank, it's not endangerment, it's attempted murder.

I guess if you are not killed or dump the bike it appears it is OK. I agree the intent was to do bodily harm and should be treated as such. It is amazing the guy kept his composure and did not do go postal on the kids.

If I was the one to catch them, I think they should be entitled to a choice:

a) let the cops handle this, whilst we all lobby heavily for attempted murder.

B) we 'settle this ourselves', rolling-in the various themes mentioned above as suitable lesson material

ether way, the lesson learned must be clear so they'll not think of it as a prank in the future

as dumb kids in the country, my brother and I would stand on either side of a dark country road and when a car approached, we'd get in a stance like we're playing tug O' war, PRETENDING that we're stretching something across the road. Invariably.... hard braking / screeching tires. Then we ran away laughing our stupid teenage ***** off. As f-ed up as that was, no one was ever in any actual danger.

Unless the vehicle went out of control....
perhaps I exagerrated somewhat with the 'screeching tires'

If you're driving down a country backroad, even at 60, your headlights will shine on us 2 ******** teens in plenty of time before you realize we're stretching the invisible string of death across the road.

The irony in that prank is that if a car ever DID go through us and we were actually stretching a rope like that, who would be the one to regret it? Not the car, that's for sure.
