I was looking at a friends Yamaha RSV and noticed that the radio/ intercom controls are on the handlebars in a nice compact setup, and the box it's self is small and could easily be added to the FJR giving the bike the "BMW deluxe" radio that is as close to stock as possible on our bikes. This would give the FJR an AM/FM radio, Input for a ipod and a driver/passenger intercom as well as a CB radio if desired.

Has anyone done this yet? It certainly looks like it would fit and would end up look far better than anything else I have seen.

I think you would have more than one box. Radio,CB, amp, etc. You could go to Bike Bandit and see how much stuff there is to the system. I had the earlier model Venture with all the audio stuff, and there was a ton of it. Good luck.

Actually no, the RSV has one small box with a lot of cables coming out of it, and the CB is a second box. then the handlebar controller. I could care less about CB, or the casette tape player (Waht was Yamaha thinking? Casette on a 2007 anything  )

to get a working intercom and radio it is 1box and 1 handlebar controller. I recently messed with this when he had his bike all apart.

From what I can tell from ebay prices, it's WAY cheaper than any decent aftermarket intercom. About $450.00 for a complete setup, and it looks stock.

Well, this is an interesting idea, I've often looked at using an old goldwing system or a valkyrie system, but now that they aren't making those anymore, the prices are going up...

If yamaha makes this system for the RSV, it's too bad they don't make it for the FJR!

Tim,

If you end up doing this, please post your results. I am actually more interested in the CB portion. I am looking for an alternative to the ginormous (and ugly IMHO) J&M setup.

Best of luck.

Davy
