FJR- A real Bike

Funny. My SO's first experience riding was this past summer on my Suzuki SV650 and she loved it. I got the FJR to make it more comfortable for her and to allow us to ride two-up for longer distances. She loves the FJR and thinks she's wrapped in luxury compared to the SV. I guess it all depends on what you know. If she has a chance to be a passenger on a Harley then I may be in trouble. :blink:

Compared to the typical HD, 90% of motorcycle's on the road would feel like a F-15. But it's all relative. If you want to ride a real F-15, try pinning the right grip on a Hayabusa. I guarantee your FJR will feel mild in comparison. Both are great machines.

I too have had many Harley's and bought a K1200RS about 5-6 years ago and fell in love with the speed, brakes, and overall thrill riding again. Then I got a 07FJR and think this just may the best bike I've ridden over the last 44 years. Funny thing is I thought the Mutistrada I have was until I got the FJR.

I always kept the bagger for two up riding but since 90% of my riding is solo I traded the bagger for a 06 Dyna. I love the bike but it will be a solo ride only and I'll be converting it to more of a sports purpose in the future. The difference in HD's and sport, or sport touring bikes is oranges and apples. Each have their place. I think for the driver with two up , the fjr, st1300 or any other sport type bike is preferred but for the passenger(at least my wife), the harley or cruiser type is more comfortable. I'm hoping my wife will enjoy the FJR as much as I do becasue next year we are taking a 9 day trip on a ST1300 in Europe and I want to get her use to riding this type of bike. I suppose if she doesn't like it I'll be taking applications for a backseat rider?? :lol:

Can't comment much on the HD's, but I rent them when I travel and have no complaints. I bought an 07 FJR this year and love it. I have a wing and a cruiser and the FJR is my favorite. Wife loves it for short trips, but it is my all around favorite. Best all around bike I have ever owned. I bought a ZX14 as a project bike for my company and it is wicked fast and fun to ride, but I still go back to the FJR.

A friend dropped it off for me to take for a ride one Saturday when he bought his and that was all it took. Two days later I had mine.

I have a Harley too.

Well, it's not really a Harley, it's a Harley Tee Shirt, and I got it at an OFFICIAL Harley Dealer.

Well, actually, it's not an OFFICIAL Harley shirt, cause I didn't really get it at a Motor Company Store, I got it at the mall.

..and it's not really even a Harley Davidson shirt, but it is black and it has a chopper on it.

I have to say Homer looks tough on a Chopper...
