I hate it when I can't sleep.
Back in the day when **** Mann held the AMA number 1 plate and Kenny Roberts was an up-and-comer, I was an up-and-comer too. I remember nights working late into the next morning preparing my Yamaha road racer for the next national championship road race. When the work was done, I would sit for hours just staring, awed by the functionality and beauty of my TZ350. I've just been out in the garage doing the same with my '06 FJR.
This is a beautiful motorcycle. I first rode in 1965 when I was 15. I sat and stared for hours at my Suzuki 50cc motorcycle back then. Red and chrome and oh!! so beautiful. A lot of bikes have done that for me. But I lost 18 years of riding ('84-'02) when my daughter was young and other things were more important. Since I've reentered I've had a Suzuki 600cc Bandit, an '03 VFR, and now, my '06 FJR. No matter what I look at, nothing gets my juices rev'ed like this FJR.
I can stare at this motorcycle for hours!! It sits beside my '94 BMW 325I, which happens to be the same color.
This bike is gorgeous, which wouldn't mean a thing if it couldn't back it up with performance. What I see is the aesthetics, focused by the reality of what this bike can do.
Excuse me while I go out to the garage and meld into one with my FJR again...
