Well, it was a long wait (1 June to 21 July), but my FJR finally arrived from Hawaii. The shipping company had done a pretty good job, actually constructing the shipping crate around the bike. There were two minor f&*^-ups: when they removed the windshield they stripped most of the nylon screws, and the cross-bar in the crate pressed on the kill switch housing, and the bike jiggled enough to snap off the little detent inside the housing. Time for a call to Gary McCoy....
Went out for a long (for me, anyway) ride on Saturday morning with a buddy who has a BMW R1150RS. We tooled around western Maryland for about 4 hours, havin lots of fun on back roads. Got it into triple digits several times, which was sweet!
Now that the bike is here and it's in the 90s with max humidity, it might be time to install those Spiegler lines, the rotors, and my new PCIII. Or, I'll just keep riding it until winter, when the roads ice over.
