When I first got the FJR I had this issue. My muscles are now used to it and I haven't had that sensation for the last 25k miles

Exactly what I am hoping. I'm thinkin that as the weeks go by it'll get easier and easier. I'm just gonna wait it out and see how it goes (or get the little Chinese masseuse chick :)

I was suprised what a big difference the grip puppies made for me. Much of my pain went away and for $7.50 cents it was my cheapest mod yet.

So far I've added Grip Puppies and set the bars all the way back. Most "pain" comes from the stock saddle after @ an hour in my rear. Yesterday I ordered the new (finally availible...) Sargent front saddle. Once it gets here I will see if bar risers are needed like I had on my '03 FJR with an optional Yamaha (Corbin built) saddle. On my '03 I was good for 600 mile days.

Given the significantly different riding positions between a VTX cruuuzurr and the FJR...owch. Seems like instant invitation to shoulder pain. I used to get that every Spring after not riding much during our snowy Winters. This Spring, as I haven't ridden since early last Fall.....

Of course as I'm still recovering from a second neck operation and my left shoulder/arm still has pain.....I am HOPING to be able to ride again this year. Last year, after the first miserably failed operation, riding caused almost instant severe pain; not conducive to riding a GR8 bike. DFO :)
