TriggerT: i'm kinda new to all this... and read your link on farkling... wow! awesome work

i'm particuarly interested in switches you have on your left and right panels and exactly what they do and where to acquire them... (if you detailed this and i missed it, my appologies... i've been awake for 40 hours and it's possible i missed it)

also, the 3 dials on the left side of the tank... their function, where acquired etc...

thanks!

When I crossed the $10k mark, I knew I had a**problem**

Was referring to the Ironbutt magazine with an article from Joel Rappaport farkling his FJR. article itself not super interesting, but getting the magazine brings me joy.

Now if I can only get Don to start publishing a CBA magazine.

I am also interested in switches.

I just got mine today. Many of the mods featured I've done, but it's still interesting to see how he did/placed the mods.

Great link also TriggerT!

Farkling is an addiction but dang I need - just - one - more...................

Jim. If ever you feel like you are "Farkled Out"...

... There is always my bike!

BTW The plexiglass lasted one gravel road- that was it.

Still looking for aluminum source.

Really!? It looked so sturdy ;) Don't you have any steel suppliers or welders where you live?

It did look sturdy! This makes 2 trunks in two rides...

Maybe I need to stay on the pavement (?)

Local suppliers are "Wholesale" and will not sell to individuals.

However, Jim has contacts and connections in central Florida

... and I have not bothered him with a drop by since his return. :)

You know where I live!

For aluminum there's a place I use over in Sanford. Lotsa stuff and reasonable prices - all used/salvage. Many many sheets of aluminum in various sizes, shapes, and thickness. I need to do a run over there - why don't you come up early and we'll take my pickup over.

PS there's a partial pic of my bike elsewhere in that issue.........

Hey Guys, sorry it has taken me a few days to get back to you on this, busy as hell at work lately.

Anyway, the switches are from Ancor but I think I bought them here:

https://www.jamestowndistributors.com/userportal/show_product.do?pid=11937

The switch on the right side of the bike with the red illumination is to turn the Datel volt meter on and off. The switch and Datel are hooked directly to the battery to get as accurate of a reading as possible.

The blue switch on the left side of the bike is to turn on the Clearwater lights. Clearwater sends a switch with their lights, but I don't care for theirs and use mine.

Now, the bike in the report I sent the link to is no longer with us. I had a little trip through a ditch and after hitting a hidden culvert I tried my hand at unassisted flying. The bike stopped quickly enough that it ended up being totalled, but I walked away with just a bruised shoulder and ego. ATGATT!

The three dials were for the controller for my heated gear, and then one dial for the upper set of Clearwater lights and one for the lower set of lights. Even though the bike was totalled in the accident, and one set of Clearwater lights was LAUNCHED off of the bike, Clearwater repaired them, and built me a custom wire harness for a very minimal charge. the new harness allows me to control all 4 lights from one dial. The replacement bike still have 3 dials, but they now control the heated gear, the Clearwater lights, and a set of ADV Monster lights on the forks.

TriggerT, do you still have the switch that turns the vibrator on?

Awesome farkling my friend...look forward to seeing you use it in the Big Dance. :clapping:
