Gen 1 vs Gen 2... now I'm sure this has NEVER been discussed before. We all know that older is better, isn't it obvious every time we look in the mirror? You guys oughta be ashamed, hammering on the Gen 1's like that. I'm gonna have to go out and give the Feej a rub down (actually it needs some wax) so it won't feel blue about your comments.

Oops too late!!! I forgot: it's already blue.

hey FNG, which part of Houston are you from as I live in Friendswood?

I have an '05 with the "Cromeit heat fix" done and an insulation blanket under the tank and it makes a BIG difference in the amount of heat.

I also have a larger windscreen, Cee Bailey +2+2 with a flip and that helped change the airflow also so its much better.

I have ridden a friends '05 that does not have these mods and his is hot to ride, much different than mine.

I also installed some Heli Riser blocks on the handlebars and that helped with wrist/forearm issues.

The Gen I is the best of the FJR's so don't let those Gen II owners of a heavier, longer, slower bike influence you.

You are welcome to come over and look at the bike mods is you want.

Thanks guys for the comments. I've waded into the fray with a nice '06, and so far I'm happy wth that. We'll see what if any ergo mods I might need, but I'll give it time to see how I adjust.

FJRMGM, I'm up in Northwest Houston / Cypress.

Y'all have a good one!

I'm close by...Jersey Village area. Heading to Luling tomorrow for some BBQ. The weather should be perfect. Enjoy the FJR.
