Well, I gotta say that while I don't have a lot of time on my fjr (3 months, 8k miles) I WAS beginning to think it was invisible to LEOs. Many's the time that I would go past one going 20 over the speed limit (interstate) and they wouldn't give nary a twitch. ( I commute 30 miles each way to work and 10-12 miles of that is on the superslab).

However, I was disabused of that invisibility notion on my way through Nebraska, while ya'll were heading out to WFO. I was just settling in after a gas stop when I got pulled over for doing 6 over the limit! Thankfully, he gave me a warning. At least that was the reason he gave for pulling me over. (I still think it was more because he was in the passing lane and I passed him on the right, something that happens quite frequently here in Utah valley.) Unfortunately, he pulled out ahead of me after the stop and I could still see him up in front of me 70+ miles later. (Made the rest of the ride through Nebraska veeeeeery long.)

 Really? I think you are right. Memo: When in CA and you overtake a CHPy doing the speed limit.....Don't pass him. For some reason they take that as flaunting their authority. They will pull you over. BTDT. :dribble: If, however, you have a "certified" spedo, and are sure they are going below the limit, and they are not running code or traffic break, then and only then you may pass them, in any lane, as long as YOU don't exceed the posted speed limit doing so. :clapping:

Things about CA you didn't really want to know. I bet it's the same in most places. I always said Utah was a strange, beautiful place.
