So, my brother in law is looking HARD, for an FJR. He had an '03 with low miles and decent farkles lined up, but the seller wouldn't budge from $4500, and hadn't done any maintenance since 2015.

My BIL is a super cool guy who retired from APD. He has $3800 cash for a bike, so I told him I'd keep my eyes open here for someone willing to part with their '03 or '04. We'll go get it...

If that's you, keep me in mind.

You could be a really cool BIL and sell him yours for 3.5 and get a new one for you.
Always here to help Zilla.
His BIL doesn't want a pink/purple FJR.

^^^^^That was mean. It is Black Cherry, the fastest and sexiest of all FJR colors. Lol.

My BIL is following up some of these leads. Due to his schedule, the travel to pick up a bike may be an issue. However, my wife said, "Well, let's fly out, pick one up and ride it home. Lol...THAT sounds like an idea!

Just have him fly out. You ride out. Then you can both ride back together. I can't think of a better shake down cruise!!

That's how we bought my brother's bike. I rode to Phoenix, and he flew. Had a great ride back. Mike has some issues with his youngest son, and I think he's afraid to leave right now. Honestly, I can't blame him. He's a good dude, so I wouldn't mind making the trip for him, IF it comes to that.

SOOOOOOOO, My BIL bought the original '03 he was looking at the other day. The guy called him back and met his deal.

THANK YOU guys for the searches you did, the suggestions you made, and the offer I got. He was looking seriously at a couple of them, when the local guy called back.

Now, I get to spend his money. I have him ordering Speed Bleeders, finding iridium plugs, and getting oil and a filter. We'll spend part of a Saturday knocking out the maintenance.

THANKS AGAIN!

Best part is now you have a riding partner. Don't forget to have him sign up on the forum.

Good for him,

Dave

Which oil and filter are you buying Zilla? I'm sure some people here have some suggestions...

If he's riding to DC with you, I have two words of advice: Seat Concepts. (BIL has very little dinero remaining, yes?)
