I'd like to see that ride footage...if the camera still works!
If your going to ride & lean that aggressively I don't really get why you would be happy with a FJR? Grinding metal and scrapping up your bike isn't really the way to go IMO. That looks like more than just pegsparks to me? More like grinding his frame or exahust header pipes? Actually probably is just his center stand I guess?

you've got my attention.
i've been ridding the piss out of PR2's, on this and previous bikes, and they are pretty sticky for me....
no track tire but i'm impressed....

I'd say... it's all in the technique Guy. It's not the PR2 (or 3) or BT023 (or 021), or this, or that... it's the technique.
some tires, with the appropriate technique will go a bit farther over than others... we're not testing that limitation. If we were on the track, maybe we would be, maybe... But it looks pretty clear, with the correct technique, he's got plenty of contact patch left and the peggies is sparkin...
it's not the tire... per se...

Not to digress into tire discussion, but with warm days on a great road surface like the dragon, most any good tire works fine.
What that photo shows more than anything: it's not the bike it's the rider, though credit to the FJR for the long cross country from Wisconsin then sporty on the dragon. That guy is getting his money's worth.

Me too. The front (when deployed) of the sidestand pad on my FJR is scraped and shiny, but no visible signs of contact on the centerstand. Accomplished in Arkansas 6 weeks ago. Not too bright, in my opinion. Gotta believe I was pretty close to leveraging too much weight off a tire. Bad things follow.
