Hello All,

I just wanted to post some pic's of a recent ride to Fredericksburg VA. I got an invite from my freind Zig37 on the VTX forum from NH. We met up on route 395 in RI at a rest stop before heading down.

After spending the night down in New Jersy with some family we headed out the next morning on our way to Fredericksburg. I forget what the name of this brigde was but it was quite long.

Just before getting to Fredericksburg we ran into some twisties and it wasn't long before the VTX was behind me. The camera got shut off after this sign. 14 miles of nothing but curves and we just let the feeeej loose.

Rally location for the VTX Riders

After cooling off for a bit and rehydating with some cool water and meeting some other riders we left for the Hotel

Well the festivity's and fun started. I won't go into details with this one.

The following day we met up with VTX riders at the local dealer for some 40% off deals and kick off for Saturday.

After some chit chat with other riders we decided to head back home and get some riding in. We headed up north for Skyline drive and on our way back home. A quick stop to take in the view.

How's this for luck? We had to go down this road for a bit (666) Not only that, I happened to look down at the speedo on the way and get what's the mileage is so far for the trip.

I took it real easy going till we got off that road!!!

The next stop was lunch and it was excellent. Sorry no food pic's, the battery in the camera died.

Some bimmers getting ready to leave. Nice folks we chatted for bit before we went in to eat.

Hear are some pic's going down Skyline drive.

Rinding buddy Carl :clapping: Thanks for the fun!

Hope ya like it folks,

Great ride report! Looks like you had a good time (though I really do want to hear the story about Lolita the inflatable love doll sometime..! ;) )

Interesting coincidence you posted the pic of the gal with the BMW F800ST. My wife test rode a factory-lowered model yesterday (she put about 25 miles on it. Thanks, BMW!) She absolutely loves the bike. I was leading on a little tour yesterday, and I swear she rode with more confidence than I've ever seen her ride (and her current bike is an '06 Kawasaki Ninja EX500). Though it is 20+ lbs heavier than her bike, she says it feels much lighter (attributable to the lower CG w/ gas tank under the seat) and claims it's a very easy bike to ride with the exception of the split turn signals which took her a few minutes to get used to. She'll probably buy one in either January or February next year. (So does this mean we'll have to do both FJR AND BMW rallies..??)

Why not do both rallies! It's all about riding and having fun. Yes the BMW's are nice bikes and good luck on getting the wife a new bike. I wish i could get mine to try riding her own some day. She's content on the back so far.

It looks like one of the VTX riders had some bad luck yesterday on the skyline drive also. You have to watch those highway pegs. Three contact points on a MC just doesn't work out well it seems. I want to build my own set of highway pegs soon with maybe some added functions. They sure would be nice on these long rides.
