I had to buy tires for my FJR and my wife's Shadow today. I paid almost $700.00 when all was said and done. I will have to plan my tire purchases to be a little more staggered in the future. I decided to try out the Avon Storms. I hope that they will last a bit longer than the Bridgestones I had on previously (8,000 miles). My front tire had some miles on it yet, but we are taking a trip out to the west coast this summer, and I know the front tire didn't have enough left for that.

I wouldn't do burnouts with this bike anyway, but the price of rubber ensures that for me. :dribble:

Wow, if you put 8K on the stock tires, you'll get 10K+ out of the Avons. They wear like iron and grip pretty well for a hard tire. Just watch the tire pressures and you should get a long, enjoyable life out of them.

Was SW MOTO used for tire purchases?

That sounds about right. I could easily pay that in my area for tires for two FJR's. I started mounting my own. I scratch my wheels usually, but a little touch-up on the black wheels and I'm happy. I can shoe one FJR for the price of two tires shipped for free from Southwest Moto Tire.
