Silver Penguin
With perfect weather, great friends and a brand new bike, I had to go out for a ride today.
While we were on the Ortega, from Elsinore to SJC, I saw three pairs of FJR's. Was it any of you guys? I waved. I was riding my new Ninja 650, behind a BMW GS, and a Gixxer, with a BMW K12 behind me.
We rode in both directions, and after turning around near the lake, we slipped in behind an older gentleman on a pretty looking cruiser. Probably HD, but not sure. This guy could ride close to the speed limit on the straight parts but the turns were painful. The girls in front of me passed him but I think that must have either woken him up or scared him because he started to wander even more.
I'm on his tail, at all of 35mph, looking for a place to pass him with plenty of room. Here comes a straight, albeit with double yellow lines. I can see clear to pass BUT...... the 'gentleman' moves over onto the other side of the road. I daren't pass him on either side now, since neither of us have a clue what he's going to do next. The following few turns were amazing. He went from the left to the right of the lane with neither rhyme nor reason. Eventually, he slowed a little and headed towards a turn out. Time for me to leave in a hurry!
