The final photo is Dolly getting ready to ride with Bustanut, Tim, Ray, Andy and yours truly giving the TwoWheelNut salute to the bunch of you.

You should have been here!!!!

Especially Tom (Huron52). We are very disappointed with you and will now show up on your doorstep and drink all your beer.
You guys should know "I never get to anywhere"

As for my beer it was all drank last saturday night. I don't have a drop in the house!

So the picture of you sitting on that big red **** (with a smile on your face I might add) was taken in your own d@mn yard? :D

You're just trying to preempt uninvited guests I think... ;)

we own the CCT secret and can have it done in a jiffy.
Had a question on the CCT replacement. On my 03, I had the CCT replaced at about 47000 miles when it started making noise (unfortuneately replaced with the old style CCT). Now, with about 93000 on it I am about to due a valve check (I know I am out of synch on when I do it) and would like to change the CCT. When you change the CCT, how do you ensure the cam chain doesn't slip on the cam or crank sprockets when the chain is loosened with the CCT off?

You remove the cam chain cover and run a tie rap around the chain guides. Then tighten the ty-rap before backing off the CCT.

Thanks, yeah last time I changed my CCT I had the cam chain cover off. Actually I had both cams out for valve shim adjustment so it didn't matter about the chain slipping since I had to put everything back together again anyhow. Now to put my fingers on a diet so they can get in there to change that CCT!!

With the modified bolts, tweezers and a screwdriver even I with my fat pudgy fingers can do this job. There is no need to stick your fingers in places where they do not belong ;)

Wow. Looks like you guys had a great event. Wish I could have been there. Still want to learn how to do valve checks myself, and sooner than later I'll have to replace my CCT. You should do a full write-up on your procedure. (See how I volunteered you for that?)

It's too bad you frozen hinterland screwballs don't live closer where you can see the 'Mister Stanley' show live and on a regular basis. Is it any wonder I am so ****** up with him as my ******* step-pappy?

I must add, since I missed the video, Yamafitter kindly offered to give me a personal viewing, and said he will coach me when approaching the parts requiring the very dark welding glasses.

I wish I could'e stayed longer, but I promised I would try to meet my wife at her friend's wedding reception Saturday evening. I ended up only being 15 minutes late! I was a bit hurried to leave and forgot to thank Bust, Mizz Bust and Mizz Geek for providing a well-equipped garage, a place to sleep, and food/drink.

Sheila - if you noticed that the sheets smelled of urine and feces after I left, it must have been the bed that Tim was sleeping in :innocent:

That's OK. I know that Pam would be willing to play the gracious host and send you to the Brewer's Retail for more while we eat all your food.

+1, Gunny on the Cam Chain Tensioner full write-up procedure proposal of SkooterG. I am going to replace my 2003 Miss Lucy Liu's CCT when I return home from CFR-NB 2011. If anyone could do a full tutorial on the change out process it certainly would be Bill and Ray.

I've said it before here, when Winter comes, you know you frozen hinterland screwballs are welcome to fly into Phoenix and borrow one of my moto fleet, the Super Tenere arrives soon (Miss Ingrid is gone!). 'Mister Stanley' will lead you down to Mexico, either Northern Baja or Northwest Sonora Estado for fun in the sun away from snow and cold.

I blame the dogs, which is why I chose the other bed. But thanks Jeff for letting us use your bike as an installation guide. It helped out a ton.

Got the new tires ordered yesterday, and the bike hopefully goes in today or tomorrow to get them put on. I'll keep an eye them and hopefully they don't bulge again. I decided on the PR2's after seeing plenty of positive reviews on here. Hopefully, they'll get on before the weather turns back to crap. I'd really like to play with my new cruise control without being paranoid that the tire is going to blow. Now I've gotta see what farkle I want by the fall tech day. :)

Wish I would have been there instead of at the class I took. :eek:hwell: I think I would have gotten more out of the tech day. While the class was good, IMO it is not worth the $325 dollars I paid to attend it.

At least I am coming to the end of our large upgrade project at work. I should be able to keep the calendar clear for the fall gathering. :punk:

Tech Weekend with Bustanut - The Aftermath

I went up to my local dealer and picked up some new o-rings for the coolant pipe. I was going to McGyver the poor pipe to an inch of it's life since all coolant pipes are on backorder across North America I was not going to be without my FJR this summer. In the end I doubled the o-ring on the damaged side and it actually went back together quite smoothly. Everything looked good so I topped up the coolant and ran the bike up to temperature.

NO LEAKS!!! :yahoo:

I may have dodged a bullet here but will install the pipe when it arrives on the slow boat from China.

The bike seems to be running a little rough but its still running on last season's fuel so I want to run some injector cleaner and get some fresh go juice and then perform a TBS and maybe change the plugs.

The fortune cookie from the Chinese restaurant said my plans would be successful. It just took a little longer than I had initially thought.

Good to hear, Bill!

Between being a bit lazy recovering from the weekend, and being busy as crap at work, I've been remiss in getting my pictures uploaded. I promise I'll get 'em uploaded tonight and try to get a ride report going as well.

Very good, Bill!!!! Time for a shakedown ride at full temperature (not too far from home for the first one), but that should work. I imagine the one o-ring wasn't getting enough squeeze due to the distorted tab or whatever......

I measured the distance from the tab to the ring at seats the o-ring on both sides and found that the side that got banged around was not correct. With a little bendology I was able to correct this but still decided to use 2 o-rings on that side.
