Touring Club of Switzerland a TV broadcast

The commentator mentiones that the VFR is available starting at 22,540 and the FJR starting at 23,210 Swiss Francs which is at present the same as in US $$$$.

He also said that the VFR is sportier than the FJR. He concludes that both bikes are very well motorized and very reliable and that's what the Swiss like.

Question? isn,t the VFR a "crotch rocket" and if so, how does that qualify it as a "sport tourer"? It is a fine looking machine nonetheless

VFR a crotch rocket?

Nah. It's just a slightly sportier interpretation of an ST bike, on a similar vein to the Ducati ST's or Triumph Sprints.

Has been like that for decades, but the new 1200 is moving closer to the "center" of the category with the addition of shaft drive, fancy electronics and additional weight.

I have a friend who has VFR 800. Honda call it sport touring bike and it is exactly - more sporty, but you can do a longer trip without any issue. This VFR 1200 is really nice bike - with a lot of nice features, but still more "sport" than "touring" I suppose.
