Well, I just confirmed with my dealer that I will be receiving my FJR 1300AE in May!

I want the following things done & I want to make sure I get it done properly so please chime in with your knowledge:

1) Givi mounting platform (if available) for my E52 that I currently use with my GL1800.

2) Sliders - is there any other protection items I should add?

3) I would like to use my Lowrance IWay 500C on the bike. Since I use it also on my GL1800, I would like the interface to be compatible with the GL1800's 5 pin plug system (headsets).

Other than these few things, I am so looking forward to receiving it!

Best Regards from New Orleans (I rode down today from Texas today and it was in the 30s the entire way)!

Best Regards,

Shane

The paint has been "soft" on the previous models, so some type of protection might be nice. A Tankslapper Kit (look here), Mag Knight (click here), tank bra, etc. If you ride close to the tank your riding gear can scuff the paint.

Not knowing how far you are riding home, if it is a long distance, I'd suggest some type of throttle lock: ThrottleMeister, a throttle rocker or VistaCruise (clicky), check under "farkles" for Installing a Vista Cruise.

06 has been redesigned as far as sliders. Looks simpler because bolts are in the right place and no plate looks to now be necessary.

Get a Radiator protector. (fenda extenda)

06 rack is also changed to some degree. Is Givi ready?

With the fairing changes the existing sliders may not fit.
Mammy Yammy now offers their own sliders for the 06 from their accessories catalog. I can't say how they compare to R&G but they look like they mount a lot like the Mokos do.

Do you have a link? I couldn't find it on their site / accessories!

On the yurpeein website. May not be albe to get them here in the states, though a enterprising lad might figure out a way. Maybe FJRGoodies can get them.
