Got my fjr back from the local yamaha shop today, brake and transmission recalls done. Transmission feels like it always did, no problems. Mine was their first, state they have another in line.
But how can you say no to a brand new (free) transmission?I`m not doing mine. I had a nice talk with my dealer who is also a mechanic and he said that if it were his bike, he would not do the recall. Just my opinion.
Who's performing the surgery on yours? Your neighbor in Bellevue.....Dropped mine off yesterday. Should be ready by end of the week. Will report back once I ride it
I'm guessing that's a pretty thick Tech Bulletin. I'd love to see it.Has anyone received or found the written procedure for this replacement? I would like to validate the work done by the dealer once completed (make sure nothing was forgotten)
I have a copy of the procedural instructions for the repair work, but not the actual tech bulletin.I'm guessing that's a pretty thick Tech Bulletin. I'd love to see it.
Westside Motorsports?I had mine done at a dealer in Spokane Washington.
I-90 Motorsports did mine. Picked it up Saturday (took a day longer than planned, but who cares). So far so good, and $0 for me.Who's performing the surgery on yours? Your neighbor in Bellevue.....
I'm assuming they won't test ride a darksided bike either.....anyone have a used tire I can borrow? LOL^^^^^^^^^^^ +1
What Adam said.
Dealer wont test drive FJR’s on wet/snow/frozen roads.

Yamaha knows you have a few (dozen) spare FJRs so they moved you to the back of the parts line...I am getting a bit frustrated. I stopped by my chosen dealer on February 9th to order the recall kit. It still has not arrived. They have received recall kits for other FJRs ahead of mine but after 5 weeks nothing? WTF?
So I called the Yamaha Corporate Customer Service line and like above all I got was recording saying that staff was in a meeting and unavailable. Double WTF?
