June 9 my wife and I are heading out on a week long ride and was seeking advice on special roads not to miss. We will be leaving Bradenton, FL on Sat 6/9 and heading to Atlanta, GA for the weekend and then probably to Nashville,TN for a couple days. Are there any don't miss roads that we need to ride while on the way or any just out of the way that we should make a special effort to ride? Thanks in advance for any assistance. Everett

Rocky, heres a route for you sir.If you have time and want to take back roads.

After you finish your visit in atlanta,go north on 400 right out of the city.

Take it til you see sr60,it's about a 50 mile run to this point.

Go left on 60 north thru dahlonega,ga.Out of dahlonega the road will get twisty, when you go over the moutain you'll come to a little whole in the wall place called Such's.

On the left is a place called TWO or two wheels only,it's a good place to stop and rest and see some interesting bikes come by.

If you'd like just keep heading up 60,it'll take you into tenn. After you get into tenn. about 20 miles you'll see sr68 to telico plains, take this road to telico plains and take a right onto the cherohala skyway.

You might want to stop in telico for gas.Apoint of interest about 5 miles up cherohala to the right is baldriver falls. The falls are right off the road about 5 miles or so.

It's a nice side trip along the telico river and very scenic.Come back out and continue on toward north carolina on cherhala,it's a nice 45 mile ride across the mountains.

You might want to take a jacket liner with you also as it can be very cool going across. When you come down in elevation you'll see a sign to the left,143 to robbinsville.

Take this about 3-4 miles and you'll run into 129.Go left on 129 north for about 10-15 miles and you're at deals gap.Stop here for refreshment and run deals gap into tenn.

You can pick your route from here to nashville. That route is a good ride on some good roads. It'll take a while and you might want to cut out one day in atlanta to accomodate this ride, but it's worth it.

Have a nice trip.
