Flat spot on throttle

I have a niggling problem.  When advancing from a stop as I advance the throttle slowly it reaches 2K and then races to 3.5K.  Cannot stop at 2 k.  Not a problem on level ground  but starting on an upslope it is.  Embarrassing!! Any ideas? 2016fjr

First thought, a worn throttle position sensor. How many miles on the bike?

You list a 2006 and a 2013 on your profile.  If it is the 2013, I would definitely agree with mcatrophy on the throttle position sensor being a likely culprit.  A known issue with earlier Gen III.  Not as common with Gen II.

It's  a 2016.  I had a 2006 before

It is a 2016.  I used to have a 2006.  Don't remember if I had the problem there.  Thanks
