WORST YAMAHA DEALER

This place is the worst. The parts department is incompetent and management isn’t much better.

About a month ago I stopped in to pickup a crush washer for my oil drain plug. I was told they don’t have any in stock…that they don’t routinely stock them because there are so many different types and they don’t do much work on FJRs.

So, I ordered 6 and was told they’d call when they came in the following week. After 10 days I called them. They had arrived (but they didn’t call) so I went in to pick them up. I took them home only to find they were the wrong ones… they gave me some rubber o-rings instead.

I called to alert them of the mistake and a service tech answered the phone. He claimed they have some in stock and the mistake was made because the parts guy doesn’t know what he’s doing. So today I go in to pickup some washers and I get the same old runaround. The parts staff says they don’t have any in stock, can order some etc. I asked that if they have to be ordered, can they be shipped to me so I don’t have to come in again and the parts fella started getting huffy. Then I said, hey don’t get mad at me, it wasn’t my mistake and he claimed that I picked the part inferring that it was my fault. Not true. He selected and ordered it.

I asked that he check with the service tech to make sure of the part. He came out to the desk said they one he was now looking at was also wrong and showed him the right part in about 6 seconds on the PC fiche and pointed out that they WERE in stock. At this point I was fuming mad and the service manager basically booted me out for being belligerent.

I called back after calming down and asked to speak to the manager to tell the story. He was forewarned that a pissed customer left the place and assumed my experience was at least partially fiction and refused to apologize for my experience.

Everyone has a breaking point and they went way past mine. I won’t do business with them again and encourage you to do the same.
