Hey guys and gals,

My wife and I are celebrating our 20th annaversery in Reno in August.

We have a house on the lake for a week, but we would like to rent a bike for 3-4 days to go out and tour the area.

I reserved a Wing (no FJR's available) about a month ago and they called me yesterday and said they no longer rent bikes, so I am back to square one.

The original rental was at Big Valley Motorcycle Rentals in Reno.

Can't seem to find anything else, other than HD's.

We would like something that will provide my wife with a little comfort.

Any help will be appreciated.

Hope to meet most of you at NAFO.

You might try these guys click.

They're way off in SF, but that's not a bad ride -- SF-Tahoe -- and maye they can do something a little closer. Just a suggestion.

Sorry to hear about big valley. They were a fun place to rent a machine. I've rented ST1300s there a couple of times. Huge showroom, too. Lots of scoots to ogle.

mbottoms - If you are going during Hot August Nights (HAN), I hope you already got a room otherwise forget finding a hotel. If it is durnig HAN, and you're already set, enjoy it's awesome. Reno's biggest event hands down.

Not sure about bike rentals.

We are scheduled there Aug 17-22, not sure when HAN is, haven't looked into that yet.

We have a 3 bedroom house through time share.

Now, just looking for something to ride.

check www.pashnit.com

Tim Mayhew runs a tour business in Cali and I know he has a list of places that rent bikes for folks flying into the area for his tours.

HTH,

Thanks for the info, guys.

What about places that we have to see, any input there.

We want to hit Yosemite NP, but other than that, we don't have any other destination plans.

600 miles is about as far as we would like to travel from Reno.

Any have to destinations out there?

Thanks again,

Mark

We will be there Aug 16-22, 2008.

We are staying on the South End of the lake, just a little South of Carson City.

I will also be in Golden at NAFO.

Um, you're holding your map upside down or something. But South Shore is MUCH nicer than the Reno area for casinos, scenery, etc. (that's South Lake Tahoe, CA). Right next to Harrah's they have a new zipline that I'm dying to try. You take the gondola up the mountain at Heavenly Valley and shoot down in about a minute. I also recommend the buffet on the top floor of Harrah's. Be hungry. And since you're willing to travel 600 miles, hell, there's Disneyland. :)

I also just Googled this place: American Motorcycle Service 2042 5th St, South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150-6459

530-541-8418. Says it's a rental place. They're closed now, but at least it's CLOSER THAN SAN FRANCISCO, WALT! Oops, sorry, didn't mean to shout. :blushing:

Mike, you're becoming so helpful and kind. Next thing I know, you'll be teaching my child his first word. MMMMMMMike!

Thanks Mike, my wife has already signed us up for the Zip line, looks like that will be a lot of fun.

I put my deposit down on a HD Electra Glide form Reno.

Yea, were staying somewhere called Zypher Cove.

I will talk more with you guys at NAFO.

Thanks for your info.
