Getting ready...

I plan to leave between 12:30a and 1a CDT 6/9, but it could be earlier depending on when I get up from my nap.

Here's the route:

Lots of memories on those roads!

Have fun! (But not too much fun, that'll blow that BBG attempt all to hell)

DONE! Started 12:25am CDT and finished at 10:13pmCDT. Very pleasant riding all the way to south of Buffalo, WY (about 13 hours in) with temps between 68 and 72. Then the heat started. Increased steadily until it hit 100 in western Nebraska. Some steady crosswinds from the south as well, but other than that, the ride went well, and according to plan. Thanks to TwistedCricket for riding to York from Omaha to be an end witness. Now to get all the documentation filed.

Hope you enjoyed the show! Please tip your wait staff...

Dude! :fans: :drinks: :fan_1:

Nicely done! Quite an accomplishment. I'd like to give one of those a try. I've done a few SS. BBG is next.

Any sage advice?

Research and prepare your route. Plan your gas stops. And budget in a few 5-minute rest stops; you'll need 'em, if only to clean the bugs off your face shield. There are no extra points for finishing early. Hydrate. Don't attempt this with a stock seat. Check your gas receipts carefully. And read and follow the label directions.

Good luck on yours!

Very nice! Did you have some of those cross winds I have heard about in SD?
Nothing as fierce as I've heard others post about. And frankly I couldn't have timed the ride any better. I'd hate to be contemplating it over these last couple of weeks when much of the territory is baking in triple digits

What next you ask? How about a nice relaxing Border to Border Insanity? That is my next "Big Ride". Or maybe a BB3000 Gold? That is TWO Bun Burner Golds back to back. Or you could do the "Hell Week" that Warchild did. That is SEVEN BBG's in a row!! Congrats on the extraodinarily difficult BBG!
