I'm personally too old for Hot Wheels fond memories.

When I was a kid we had HO trains ($$) and electric slot car tracks. That was some fun ****.

But my kids were into Hot Wheels, and this is clearly a cool diversion.

Especially for a dad with a couple of young bucks like seen in the video. You know that those boys are going to remember this for the rest of their lives, and probably it will change their lives. No doubt for the positive.

 Gotta love it.

That was a lot of track. I bet if he saved his money he could have bought a new 2011 Fej. ;)

Very cool though.

I would like to know some stats on it, like:

1) How many feet of track used?

2) How many curves?

3) How many boosters?

4) How many loops?

5) How long it took to build?

6) How long the track stayed up?

7) How many dogs or cats pissed on the track or chased the cars?

8) How many times Beemerdons watched the video? :dribble:

I had a great time watching that. Really awesome. I can't imagine the number of hours to set it up or to take it down. The leap over water was ingenious! The only hot wheels I had were metal and we didn't have tracks (my kid had some). By the time I was done with the hot wheels they had no rubber on the tire rims, paint was worn or rubbed off and they had been loved to death.... kinda like my FJR now that I think of it.

Thanks for the link!

My son in law has been dealing hot wheels for 20 years or more and has made a substantial amount of money at it.

;) Okay, I lied about the logs, but dirt hadn't come along yet...

Awesome. I hope he works for Mattel and has an employee discount.

I just had the purple plastic clamps to hold the track up to make a ramp. Got one loop out of it. We didn't have any steekin' boosters.

Yeah, well when playing with stones when I was about 7 or 8...I hit my little sister in the head from 40 feet away with a un lucky shot as she peeked out from a tree...of course I didn't mean to hit her...but hey, we were playing out on the farm.

Of course I was immediately apologetic and told her she was gonna be fine and tried unsuccessfully to comfort her. Being prophetic, I knew what may happen when she went inside to inform the parental units. I was right of course...unable to properly sit down for a few days...and earned an unfair bad reputation that stuck with me whenever my parents had to mediate arguments between siblings and myself.

Life is so unfair...why didn't my parents have enough money to buy a Hot Wheels set...and save me from such an unfair lot in life? :(

:D

When I was a kid all we had was rocks & logs...and we were grateful... ;)
You had LOGS? :dribble:
You had ROCKS? Being older than dirt I'm envious. :dribble:
Oh stop complaining now you three: Niehart, FJRay and Papa Chuy are so fecking old that all we had was a hoop and a stick; that's Niehart at age 9 in the photo below!

Ray and Don did have a twine ball each; Niehart got a shiny new red bicycle from the Dirty Old Man down the street though; don't know what Dave did to earn the bike!

We had a pick/ax & an ole can of paint found in a field. "Hey cousin Jeffery (a 5 year old) swing this ax at this paint can" I can still see little Jeff with a BLUE face!
