Dude you don't waste much time. Seems like all it took ya was a couple days to find THE bike. I was looking back on your journey through this forum. You started last November "new" to the forum. Then ya started that war (just kidding) between the Gen 1 and Gen 2 camps. But now you've finally got some new iron in the garage. Hope you enjoy as much as we do. Hope our input (and insults) have been a help. Ya gotta admit, you'll never have a problem getting a few opinions around this place...

Gary

This is a first.....I moved this from Classified Wanted to FJR Specific Discussion. I moved MANY misplaced threads, but this combination has never ever happened before on the forum. It's usually the other way! :)

Good for you pcarrick! Enjoy.

Congrats!

If you are like many here, you will do some miles and then start "adjusting" the bike to fit you and your riding style. Do post your changes and customizations along the way to let us know what you did and why. We are interested.

I also offer this interesting web site for playing 'what if' on changes to your bike: https://cycle-ergo.com/ (I gain nothing from your use of this site and am not connected to it in any way).

See you on the highway,

Granger

Thanks for the link it is pretty cool.

This is just an awesome bike. Coming from my(first bike )BMW R65 it is an incredible step. With the Corbin seat and everything else stock I am more than pleased. Will post some pics, but not too much to distinguish it from all the other '08's. As I might have already mentioned the front tire seems weirdly worn: triangular in cross-section with flat sides and flat center section. Someone mentioned this and I see what he was referring to. Kind of creepy for a new-comer. Looking for new tires as soon as I get a few more miles around town getting comfortable with the weight of the FJR. The bike kind of falls into the turn at slow /moderate speeds(25-30 mph). She has 3,300 original miles and these are the Bridgestones that came fitted when new....will probably feel fabulous by comparison when I get some new tires (SOON)!

Congrats on the Bike... wonderful piece of Engineering.

If you are going to keep on these OEM Tires, Check your tire pressures Weekly and keep your pressures at about 40 lbs Front/ 42 lbs Rear. You could get some better life this way.

Otherwise look at some Michelin PR2 or 3's.

Many Happy Miles and Smiles to you...
