Well I swore I wouldn't pull the trigger on an FJR until I sold one of my bikes but that promise just went out the window. Just put a deposit on an '08 FJR1300A about 2 hours from me. I figured I could sell the other bikes anytime but '08's are becomming scarce around here so what the hell.

Anyhow, looking forward to picking it up next week and start applying some of the vast knowledge on this board to get it appropriately farkled up. BTW this board was instrumental in helping me make my decision between the ST1300 and FJR. You guys and gals rock!

Congrats on pulling the trigger!

You'll be happy. I could easily state that this forum built my FJR by proxy. It's an invaluable and amazing resource.

Ya know, that's exactly the reaction I got when I went into one Yami dealership...don't know if the guy was new or what but it didn't exactly inspire confidence. When I asked if they had any FJRs he said...and I quote "We only sell Yamahas". Then another guy came over and said, "nope no '08s but we are getting in one '09. I asked when but he didn't know.

I called three other dealers within 40 miles of me and they all just said nope and sorry.

Then I called a dealer in Delaware (about 2 hours from me) on the recommendation of another FJR rider in my area and this guy said, "no sorry, but I can probably find you one. He then proceded to tell me what the OTD price would be and said if that was ok he would start looking. I was already to haggle but his price was right in line with what I had expected so I told him to go ahead. Not ten minutes later he called me, said he had found one and faxed me the VIN. :yahoo:

I guess the other dealers couldn't be bothered. :angry2:

That's just precious isn't it.....

At least my salesperson knew what one was, even though they didn't have one in stock. Very similar to your story is that when I was ready my local dealer found one in south GA and transported it to Atlanta for a price that was very close to my expectations. I guess there are some decent folks out there with Yamaha on their backs....
