Ok, all my family (except me) is built like apes with short upper bodies and long, hairy arms. I on the other hand, have a long hairy upper body, but short little flippers that barely reach the top of the tank on the FJR, much less the bars. Well, maybe that's an exaggeration, but still, after a day of riding, my shoulders and wrists are aching from stretching to reach the bars.

I have already added the Heli risers which helped a lot, but I'm still leaned over with some weight on my wrists. After 8-10 hours of riding, this gets pretty old. I know, I know, quit being a pansy... :ermm:

Still, is there anybody out there that makes taller/more adjustable risers or bars for the FJR?

Ya might want to try the D & D regular risers. 1 1/2" of pullback (only 3/4" inch of rise though) They keep me from roastin the nuts on the tank! (for gen1 not sure what ya got)

Sounds like Helibars are needed, to be comfortable. They stock bars can be adjusted somewhat but it sounds like you would need more adjustment than they provide. Check the vendor list

I solved the problem by installing on my Gen I :

Heli Bars Gen I - Product ID: HC1300R FJR1300 (03-05)

(check for better prices on fleabay or elsewhere - Gen I only)

on top of

D&D 10 degree pullback risers

(only place I believe these can be purchased - Gen I only)

others accuse me with 2 sets of risers of riding a sailboat tiller handlebar setup, but it works fine for me
