Someone here (thank you) pointed out Power Sports Place was selling their Yaesu batteries for a decent price so I bought one. I wasn't having any issues with my OEM one but I ride a lot by myself and it just wouldn't be any fun to be stuck someplace with a dead battery. Although I'm probably way ahead of having to change it out, I did it.

I've not had any problems with this battery but thought I would throw it out there if someone could use this one. All you have to do is pick it up.

Generous offer for someone local!

My OEM lasted 10 years and 170k miles and still worked when I swapped it out last year. Not bad insurance to swap it out before it goes but usually there is some warning and four years would not be too worrisome for me if the battery hadn't been abused. If you don't get any takers for the used battery, hang onto it just in case you (or a friend) runs into trouble. I wouldn't leave it on a tender but would store it in a cool place and give it a "top up" charge two or three times a year. Note that the North American made Yuasa is not the same as the OEM although they are still a quality battery.

Current battery (on my new-to-me 2011) has 7+ years but only 45,000 miles. I also ride a lot by myself and often in fairly remote areas. I have started carrying a small lithium ion jump starter just because...

I am on my way to pick up the battery, will take a couple of years to put money together for the trip, and 5-6 days after that to do the riding. Please put battery on trickle charger. See you soon. Phil, South Carolins
