Decided to go for a nice little ride around the lake the other night. It started out to be an enjoyable ride on one of my favorite local roads. I got about half way around the lake, just far enough to be comitted to continuing. When I saw the road construction sign's. If you have never riden your fjr on newly milled roads I recomend you try it, it is a lot of F#@king fun. It was with out a doubt the worst ride of my life . The front wanting to go one way,and the back wanting to go another. I truly felt lucky to have made it off of that crap with out a crash and burn.

Same thing happened to me on my favorite local circuit. Everything loose, held to @30mph, nerve racking the whole way. I was lucky it was only a couple of miles but it did ruin my whole ride.

Next time, I'll take the initiative and turn the sucker around and just plain get out of there.

I know exactly how you feel. Took my 23 year old daughter out for a ride for the first time in about 5 years. Took 52 N out of Dubuque,Ia which is a motorcycle friendly road. When we got to the best part of the road, they had just milled the road DEEPLY for a re-surfacing. Slowed to 30 mph and like boomerang said, back end one way and front end the other. If you ever come across this type of road construction, take it slow! I don't know if it would put you down, but it sure feels like it wants to reach up and drop you. My daughter said that she could even feel the bike trying to track the grooves.

Try it down a twisty canyon road. It happened to me 15 miles from home on the end of a 4k mile ride in 11 states. Needless to say it was not much fun. Just tried to relax my grip and let the bike wallow along. Really sucked but the other 3,985 miles were awesome.
