TWO Planned Rides - Identical ride plan:

When: May 9th (Friday) and May 10th (Saturday). We'll make the decision for Friday's ride on Thursday evening. There's definitely a Saturday ride, rain or shine! The Saturday ride as well as the route was planned by Dinolee of Sport-touring.net fame! :clapping: He will be in command of the Saturday ride!

Remember: Sunday is MOTHER'S DAY! :p

Friday is a GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! See you in the morning.

Itinerary for BOTH days:

Where: Meet at the Starbucks in Monroe at the Rt. 2 & 522 Junction. Address is 18629 SR. 2, Monroe WA 98272.

Time: Meet at 7 am'ish for coffee. Departure at 7:30 am. We know this is early, but it will be possibly 13+ hour day of riding. :dribble: So quite yer griping.

Food: Lunch at the Pepper Jacks Bar and Grill on Midway Ave in Grand Coulee. They have pretty decent food as long as you like burgers and pepper jack cheese. Please bring additional snacks, liquids, and ibuprofen to use throughout the day.

Route: East on Highway 2 > 97 > 104 > Coulee. Back on 155 > 20 and home. Round trip is 500+ miles from Monroe and back. Planning on coming home before sundown, but we'll probably be pushing it. We'll do gas and biological stops about every 100-110 miles. It will probably be cold up at the 5000 ft elevation, bring layers and/or heated gear. Note: Friday's pace (if we go) will probably be a bit slower due to stoppage for pictures.

Who: Anyone and everyone who wants to just have a fun day in the saddle with a fun bunch of people. If you're in Eastern Washington and want to meet up somewhere at the backside of SR 2, post up and let us know.

All invited regardless of type of bike. Ride your own ride style and pace.

No luck here Stephen. Work + I'm coming down with a cold is adding up to a rotten weekend. BTW - the '14 does look nice...saw you on Lewis turning west on 2 tonight.

Great report Stephen! I had thought about tagging along but I'm still running with a plug, still haven't got the new tire's put on yet. (Remember our first meet two weeks ago?).

One of our friends in Monroe is setting up his tire changing machine and I'll have new skins soon. Hope to get out with you soon. Kevin

I can't tell you guys how awesome it was. :yahoo:

I did come to realize that I need to do more neck and back stretches. I hit the hot tub last night and this morning. :dribble: I was a little sore, but not as bad as I expected. I need to do some minor tweaks for long distance travel.

On a sad note, I see the end in sight for my FJR. The ZX14 is just TOO MUCH FUGGIN' FUN! I have Cortech soft luggage, the DayPack II and my backpack when I ride the ZX14.

On even a sadder note, it looks like my trip to NAFO is off. Not sure yet. My wife's Peru trip and her little jaunt to Sedona fell through... I want her to have a vacation (non-motorcycle) this summer. She needs and deserves it badly. So we might just hop in the car and drive down the coast for a week or two.
