Woke up to lightening and thunder in Galena IL this AM.

Donned the Frog Togs and jumped into the fray

Within 10 minutes, crotch, legs, everything WET.

I would not recommend these POS's to anyone planning to stay dry.

drying out at MickeyD's in Evansville, IL

Wow...have not had any issues with mine so far...have ridden through several hours of rain. Good luck with the rest of yer trip

I have done 400 mile days in pouring rain with Frog Toggs and they have kept me dry all the time. I'm on my second set having worn out the first ones and still prefer their breathability and compact storage size to conventional rain gear.

What the hell you doin' on Evansville Illinois after visiting Galena...you doing the River Rd thing on your way to Hooterville or sumpin?

Sorry about the Frog Toggs thing. Being wet in a rainstorm sucks...especially if it is 37 degrees out.

Hope you dry out soon. :clapping:

BTW, :****: for not calling me while you were passing through.

:)

I've had mine fail in heavy downpour. I like the compact size but I'm planning to upgrade eventually.

The newer Road Toads are much better more robust...... never got wet with my old ones in 3 years..... whassa matter?

I think Don just put 'em on inside out...with the wet side on the inside. :D

Hey, if the guy is wet, you can't argue with that. The dude is wet after 10 mins. I'd be pissed, too.

Iron Butt to Candy Butt Rider: I hear 'ya! I've seen only one IBR rider use them....and they looked really, really wet....even wetter than me in my Darien.

I think they make two levels of Frog Toggs. One works, and the other is crap. I got the second kind and posted about them too, and heard back from everybody who apparently bought the good ones. Damn bad luck you and I share, DC.

If it rains on your way home, I suggest Depends. Might suck up some of that pool of water Frog Toggs wearers end up sitting in.

I've also had horribly bad luck with Frogg Toggs. That was quite a few years ago. I've heard lots about the Road Toads & I've heard that they addressed shortcomings with the raingear... I may actually take a look at them if/when I need new stuff.

This post could NOT be more timely....

"Brown" just delivered my new "Horny Toadz" by Frogg Toggs about 20 minutes ago. Hi-Viz jacket and black pants.

My 9 year-old original version (read: Tyvek) Toggs were worn out to the point that heavy rain came right through the cloth.

The new "Horny Toadz" version is MUCH better made, with a wider storm flap over the zipper, better zippers on the legs to allow donning over boots, elastic and velcro closures on the sleeves and "spats" to keep the legs from riding up.

I'm hoping it rains (again) for my ride home to give the new "Toadz" a workout.

Been VERY happy the past 9 years with my $40 Frogg Toggs and hope to have the same success with the new version.

$117 from Motorcycle Superstore

Hope I have better luck than my buddy Don.....though he probably cheaped out and bought the $20 Toggs. :p

Fogg Toggs suck, got it.

Galena, hope you found Stagecoach road at least that's a good ride.

Evansville, hope you're stopping by Smithy's place. If he finds out you were that close and didn't stop by, he's going to be so Pissed!

they do suck, the zipper broke on my wife's set, and they're brand new.

I got the Road Toads when they first came out and they sucked big time. Got ahold of the Frogg Toggs folks and they sent me a new pair...they sucked too. I gave up on them. It's a shame because they pack so light and breathe well.

Frogg Toggs "Horny Toadz" First Ride Report: 8/23/2011 - Typical Central Florida frog-strangler afternoon thunderstorm - 2.5 inches/hour, 40 minute drive through torrential downpour.....

Got home dry, except for a spot about 4 inches in diameter right in the chest area on my shirt. Typical "blow through" through a zipper. Why don't these rain suit makers use Velcro strips instead of snaps every 6 inches???

So far, I'm pleased. YMMV.
