I'm pre-planning a bike trip that me and several friends are taking next week (May 3-11). We're leaving from Nashville, TN and heading out West. To get the most out of our trip, the majority of our sightseeing will be from the backs of our bikes.

So far we plan to ride through or see:

1. The Grand Canyon (main reason for the trip)

2. Hoover Dam

3. Las Vegas

4. Four Corners (maybe)

Any other suggestions on great places to see, or roads to ride, would be great. (We will be hanging out in the New Mexico, Arizona, and Nevada region for the week).

TIA,

Frank

I just arrived in Chattanooga this afternoon (from Rhode Island) to attend a world motorcycle trials competion this weekend. I'll be leaving Monday 4/28 for the same route. Maybe I'll catch you guys out west.

I am not sure of the roads that you plan to ride but this would be my suggestion in Az.

Hwy 191 from Safford to Eager.

Hwy 89 from Wickenburg to Prescott, 89A from Prescott to Flagstaff. Plan to spend some time in Jerome and Sedona.

Instead of the usual rout to the south side of the Grand Canyon I would skip that and go the the North side of the Grand Canyon, Hwy 89 from Page to Alt. 89 and then Hwy 67 to the North Rim. A lot less traffic, people and the scenery is a lot better, hills and trees instead of sand.

Hwy 66 from Seligman to Kingman and then on to Oatman, plan on spending time in Oatman and then on to the dam.

Great country, great rides.

Enjoy
