So, them ohio mechs know what they are doing? Good for ohio.
When you can pull the brake lever into the handle bar & still push the bike around in front of them, it's pretty hard for them to say "That's Normal".

Originally Mama Yamaha was going to have them swap the ECU unit, after explaining that it happens even with the key off, they are having my dealer replace the front master cylinder first. They don't have the part in stock so it looks like we will have to wait until the new M/C arrives to see if this is the fix?

Glad to hear there is at least one dealer who is working towards a resolution to this problem.

Hope the new master cylinder fixes all your brake woes.

Pleeeease keep me posted. I could also use the name/number of the shop communicating with Yamaha so I could refer my dealer to them.

06 AE -- tried slight, less than slight, medium -- can't get it to duplicate. don't think this is a design problem.

Man, I know it may be a pain in the ass, but you need to find yourself a new dealer. The fact that they keep trying to give you the run-around on an obvious safety malfunction would have me RUNNING, not walking away from them. I would no longer be trying to work with them. Not ever. What happens the NEXT time you may have a problem? You gonna go thru this ordeal with these assclowns? Again? What if you are the only one with the problem and there is no other dealer to call?

Avoid them like the plague!

+1 with SkooterG. Run like the dickens.

Back to the dealer today because they didn't do a tbs at the 600. 4 and 2 were off a bit. Dealer still says nothing is wrong with the braking issue. Best of all, they charged me for 1 hour labor (80 bucks) to do the tbs. this makes the 600 cost me over 300 bucks cuz they also "always put an additive in the oil and diff lube". Anyway, the next closest dealer is an hour away. How do I reach the Yamaha techs?. If they don't help then the only other way I know is to take it back enough times to qualify for lemon law dispute. but that burns bridges.........
The dealer didn't do the whole 600 service when you brought it in the first time (forgot the TBS) for the 600 service......unacceptable and unprofessional.

"1 hour to do the TBS"......he is lying and stealing from you. A TBS takes 15-20 minutes maybe (I do it all the time).

"always put an additive in the oil and diff lube"......???? You engine needs oil and the diff needs shaft oil. Thats it. No additives or extras if that is what they mean. Bullshit and stealing your money if they add other stuff.

"Anyway, the next closest dealer is an hour away".......Not very far away at all.

....and, your brakes have a problem.

It's your bike and your money, but.......RUN !!

Alright, I'm running.....

Forgot to mention earlier that the reason given to me of why the tbs was not done at the 600 was "I didn't have the new service manual".............

That comment came after arguing that the tbs was required. Then he called regional whomever who told him I was right. How do I get in touch with this regional whomever????

can anyone recommend a good dealer around San Antonio/Austin area?
