On my Gen I, there was the hollow part of the axle visible on the left side.

Left being looking from sitting on bike.

On my Gen II, there is a nut on the left side.

Did a search on Front tire removal for GEN II, came up empty on Google/FJRForum search.

Which means it's here somewhere.

Does this left side nut need to be removed first or after you remove the axle nut using the 19mm hex socket?

Thanks.

Just remove the big bolt on the left side, loosen the pinch bolts, and the axle should slide right out.

Thanks, yes that was it.

Knew it, but better safe than sorry.

Removing wheel for leaking right fork seal, taking to dealer to hopefully

avoid the full charge of the labor piece.

Looked at tire, and now I really know what a cupping tire looks like. It's as though the

center of the tire, is not even on the ground, no' bueno'.

Again, thanks very much.

Hmmm, I"m doing the exact same thing or looks like I will be. Just picked up a 2003 with 12K miles and the right fork seal is leaking bad. May try to clean it with a thin piece of plastic or something but don't have a lot of hope.

Yea, read your thread on that Tophog.

Best to pull and have serviced, especially since it's new to you, long tooth-er'

Fresh oil, moving parts checked, gives good peace of mind to riding.

What get's me is that I purchased some Fork seals for my 04' when I did the spring upgrade and fluid change.

However, did not use the seals.

Now, I need the little suckers, and they are no where in the garage to be found.

Well, maybe the'll turn up for the next go around in about 40k miles. LOL
