My '05 FJR was in for a full service a few weeks ago including a valve adjustment so the fuel tank was removed for access. Now my fuel gauge is reading incorrectly. The guage reading drops faster than before and when the last bar starts flashing I fill it up but only takes about 3.5 gallons instead of the usual 5.5 or 6 gallons.

Could this be just a matter of a wiring connection not being fully tight or some simple fix? I'm afraid I might have to replace the entire fuel pump assembly.

Has this occurred to anyone else and any thoughts on this?

I haven't heard of this before but you could certainly lift the tank & reseat the wire easy enough. That would be the only thing relating to the gauge that was touched . . .

I'd be taking it back to whoever did the work. It was fine berfore and now.......

I can speak with realtive certainty that you will not like the price of a fuel pump assembly. You WILL become acquainted with Gary McCoy.....
