I let an old disk drive magnet stick to the outside of my non-synthetic ST7317 to help trap any nefarious ferrous bits.It also helps to rearrange the interdimentional molecular viscous tenacity of the oil thereby negating the the need for particulate filtration by synthetic media.
Thanks for more worthless posting. I try to start a thread with some useful information and this is how I get thanked with BS posts. Awesome...

Lighten up there Tonto! :)

I appreciate your inputs as many others do but everyone is not so serious here. This is the world wide web and your going to run the gammet on responses. I like the occasional humor here myself. :D Don't get offended, I have seen a lot worse go on in this place.

PS: they haven't even brought in the sheep yet.

It isn't that no one cares, It's that opinions are like ass holes and this forum has an abundance of each. It has been proven over hundreds of thousands of miles that if you use an oil rated for use in the FJR and a filter that fits properly and change them at some kind of sensible interval you will not have any kind of oil related problem.

That's where the opinions come in. If you like your synthetic stuff and it gives you a woody using it then go for it but don't get all bunched when we don't bow down and salute your opinion as being any better than the next one.

The only argument I like as well as oil threads is getting a bunch of boaters arguing about which anchor is best. In most cases those that speak the loudest on either subject are the one that have the least knowledge.

So after reading this: Ducati Oil Thread

I guess the only thing that concerns me is if there is any difference between oil pressure in a car vs a motorcycle? Higher flow anything that would warrant not switching to a fully synthetic filter?
I was after finding some input on synthetic filters, and any differences in car to motorcyle applications...

These aren't my opinions, if you feel that conventional oil is fine for you thats fine, I don't care. If you think your standard cellulose filter element works for you thats fine. I'm intrested in facts. I was trying to get input on synthetic filters.

My post wasn't worthless, the magnet acts as advertised and I consider all forum participants as either informative, entertaining, or irrelevant.

In the past I've been anal about vehicle service and it's been my experience that in the long run it's always something else that breaks, so I just fix what breaks and if that's not possible I just get another vehicle or go without, no big deal it's just a thing.

Please don't take me seriously, I certainly don't. ;)
