am heading out on a long trip, sometimes in the middle of nowhere.

prepping bike and packing etc.

wondering if I need extra fuses, and which ones,or do I need one of each,am looking at owners manual and am assuming thier just aut fuses and will take manual to shop and pick up one of each.

never saw anything on this site about anyone blowing fuses, but cant hurt to have them, any suggestions ??????????????

I carry a spare main [50 amp] fuse which can be hard to find..NAPA has them for about $5

If you melt the main fuse you'll have experienced a major problem which won't have a quick solution. You'll still be stranded even if you have a spare.

There are spare (regular) fuses already in the fuse holder compartment, none the less i always carry extras, as well as the main fuse. Also a few feet of something like 14GA wire and a 10+ amp STSP switch, wire cutters, a small DVM and some electrical tape.

You just never know when you might need to bypass the fan relay because the stupid thing stops working and you're about 800 miles from home with another 500 miles to your destination

In the perfect world in which I live I would quickly find the problem and fix it with my wife's earing and some duct tape , replace the main fuse , and be merrily on my way.. Actually, once I did blow the main fuse while wiring around the ignition switch which had failed. Should have unhooked the negative first. duh.
