The one at the dealer show was a pre-production model. The final version may very well be all black, but, changes from pre-production to production have been known to differ.

The 08 they had at the Phoenix Cycle World show was black (non AE version). The AE was sort of a charcoal metallic. FWIW the Yamaha rep said they were production models.

Weird. The FJR in the background had silver...is that an AE? And the main one in the video has the silver on the instruments still, contrary to the published changes. :blink:

Yep, I noticed that too. The instrument cluster bezels are supposed to be black on the 08.

It's pretty obvious what's going on here... Yamaha stealthly "photoshoped" the vidieo to keep us guessing. They did it on their website and now they are sneaking into others websites and altering their images too.

Crap, I better go out to the garage to make sure my bike is still Cobalt Blue.....

In “CW’s” gallery of 08’s there is a pictograph, for lack of a better word, of the “New vs. Old pulley”.

A noticeable change IMO. Not nearly so eccentric looking to me.
