Thinking about the FZ1 for 06? better get a deposit in now. Delivery has been put off until May. Most dealers are getting only 2 depending on their volume. There is a large dealer in SCa getting 6. So they will be very scarce for a while. The reason is that the new R6 is so popular Yamaha is favoring a longer run on them.

This from a dealer in NCa.

So far, I've upgraded the rear suspension on the FJR with a Penske 8981 and will be upgrading the forks next month
sportryder, where did you buy your Penske from?
sparky - I bought my Penske from Traxxion Dynamics. I work there. :)

Coyote - A few FZ1 owners have purchased a second set of wheels for their FZ1s. That way, they can have their full sport track tires mounted up on those and after the track days, put the other set with the "street" tires back on.

Also, quite a few FZ1 owners will use a full sport tire on the street. Longevity is not good for street use nor is grip very good until they are warmed up well. The important thing to remember no matter what tire is used - warm it up well before you push your banking angles. A cold tire slides easily and isn't very predictable once it does lose it's grip.

Many have also changed the footpegs on the FZ1 and installed rear-sets to improve cornering clearance necessary for track use with full sport tires.

Thanks sportryder. That FZ is looking pretty good except for the bad news from tripletango. Seems like if it's over $1,000 and I want it, it's going to be in short supply. Whatza matta for me anyway?

It would be great if I only wanted stuff that was in oversupply.
