So I finally got around to installing my g2. And it does have a noticeable impact. I agree with most of the posters. The biggest bang for the buck to smooth out the throttle response is the PCIII. I'd say that pciii with the stock map got me to 8 and another 3/4 of a point for the g2. The g2 basically slows the whiplash effect at low RPM which makes riding pretty stressfull in twisties

Just checked out the G2 site. The one they list for the FJR is silver and looks like it only comes with 1 cam. Is that the one you guys have been picking up? the pics posted on this thread show the red one with 3 cams. is that just a pic off g2's website? Thanks

Yes, buy the one listed for the FJR. It works well.

Sam is great to deal with, when I went to the site to order the FJR model was listed as out of stock. I emailed, got a reply within the hour that they were doing a run of cams and would message me when they were ready.

I got the email the following day, placed my order, and judging by how quickly the part arrived at my door they shipped it that day.

OK, I think I understand what the G2 does. I have a 07 AE so this sounds like a good ergo. Does it also help with the hand pain or do I still need to do something with the throttle spring in addition to the cam?

I would do the G2 mod before I did the spring change. Some found the spring change unnecessary after the G2 mod. It is somewhat hard to "re-wind the spring" once done but I have done both mods on the 06. But the G2 wasn't out when I did the spring. PM. <><

i did both (spring unwind and G2) on mine, but i agree that you should probably

do the G2 first, then if you find you want to release some tension on the throttle,

then do the spring.

as stated above, it's almost impossible to re-wind the spring.

the G2 alone will not reduce the effort required to open the throttle.

it simply and effectivly changes how the throttle opens. makes it more linear.

The G2 is an easy install and great fix for the abupt throttle problem. It makes the throttle smoooooth and easy.

I ordered a set of pro grips (698) 135mm long like stock here:

https://www.casporttouring.com/store/merchant.mvc?

The grips have gel in them so with the G2 my FJR now feels as good/smooth as any bike I've owned!

I just cut the old grips off with razor, added some grip cemet (optional but recommed so grips don't slip) also purchased here:

I agree, ordered my G2 yesterday. Talked with Sam himself. Said if I wasn't completed satisfied after the install, send it back no questions asked. Should arrive some time this week. Can't wait to install and try it out. Great expectations from what you all have written!

Just installed the G2 today. Wish it had been out last summer. Oh well, I guess I can find a use for the PCIII. Guess I'll have to get some after-market pipes or something or have a custom map made.

I think the G2, raising the idle, and perhaps a TBS should be all the Gen II bikes need.

Great Mod. :drinks: :drinks:

Highlander,

I have no fear that my Fred H. Shim will come out. It just aint gonna happen (Fred, its been said before but......+1!!!!). the problem is that it didnt completely fix the issue. Sounds like the G2 also doesnt completely fix the issue. So my question was based on which one had the most impact. I dont want to undo the fred shim if i'm only going to get a small (or similiar) improvement . I guess that opens up another question. What would the G2 do along with the fred H. shim? An attack on both sides of the coin?

anyone undone one and done the other?

anyone done both?
