I'm considering purchasing an FJR, and having just gotten back into riding after a long hiatus, I'm a bit concerned with so much torque and power while getting used to this machine. Someone suggested installing a G2 Throttle Cam System to help with controlling the throttle. Any comments and or suggestions?

Thanks,

Do a search and you should turn up lots of stuff on this.

Summary: Most people think it was a great mod on the pre- o8s, but not necessary on the 08 and probaby not on later models either, although who knows.

Aside: I've been taken to the woodshed for observing that you can strengthen your right forearm through exercise and get good throttle modulation without adding things like this mod, or the PCIII (the other thing that lots of folks seem to like). My own experience says that neither are necessary.... but ymmv.

The G2 is only a benefit on the 06 07 models and it is a great addition.
Perhaps, but I have zero issues with my '06 and I'm not inclined to unwind a throttle return spring or do the G2.

I suspect that the G2 mod is proposed more by the vocal minority than the vast majority.

Buy it, ride it and see if you still feel the need. Then make up your mind.

I didn't need it. I didn't want it. You might feel the same way. YOU have to ride your bike.

I agree, you should ride the bike and then decide. The bike isn't going to get away from you. I did chose the g-2 and am very impressed with the results. Cheap and easy. It relly helped with the unwelcomed little jerk coming out of the corners.
