Has anyone put both on a gen3? I just tried and it looks like the 357 does not "flush out" with the three spacers that would give equal bearing if all three were in contact with the rack.

1. What am I doing wrong?

2. Why would anyone do this?

You don't need both ...

Garaulds kit stiffens up the back because the rear subframe is poorly designed to deal with loads that have a lot of twisting force ... The subframe itself is strong "enough" (if no twisting).

If you have the SR357, the load from the topbox will be (up and down) but it will not twist the rear subframe nearly as much ...

That being said, I don't see why there would be an issue using both ...

The SR357 is not necessarily a perfect fit and needs to be tightened down ... If you simply tighten the front section first (under the seat), the rear part might be up in the air away from the spacers a bit ... You would need to tighten down the fasteners that run through the spacers ...

It is just the way the SR357 is ... It does not seem to be an issue though as mine was the same way and has been solid for a couple of years without issue ...

What MrZ said . Mines been installed since 2003 with no issues.

I just installed the pair on a Gen II today. It appeared that the sub-frame had already been tweaked just a little it, as there was a very small gap towards the rear part of the stiffy kit. I also noticed that there appeared to be a slight gap between the front bracing of the 357 and the sub-frame mounting point, but with evenly tighting the front bolts all aligned very nicely. I am very pleased with the result.
